Consistency VS Mental Health

What does consistency means to you?

Once in a day? Twice in a week? Thrice in a month? Or a yearly event?

The idea of being consistent should be different for every person. But lately, with so much content available online, it practically becomes a rat race, and therefore if you are also one of the people trying to be successful in the industry, fall into this trap of “being consistent”.

Whereas, this concept should be distinct for everyone.

It's like a diet. Some people can gain weight by just eating a normal amount of food whereas some people be eating all day and still be skinny. Why is that? BECAUSE EVERY PERSON’S BODY IS DIFFERENT.

We are one of a kind and we should treat ourselves like that.

When I first started off, every writer I used to follow told the beginners to write daily. “Show up every day and you’ll get better”

But is it really though?

What about the days when I’m not mentally prepared? What about those days when I’m not feeling like myself? What about those days when I’m lacking motivation? What about those days when I’m sleep-deprived?

You may call them excuses but for some people, these are real issues. You can’t just show up every day at cost of your mental health.

People need to understand that it is not “daily” for everyone. Sometimes it's “once in two weeks” or maybe even “twice a year”.

Forcing yourself to be consistent will only lead you to mental burnout. Save yourself from the rat race and be fair to your sanity.
